MIA again

I guess you’re going to start to think that EVERY time I’m MIA around here it means I’m on vacation, or something?  Could be true…we just got back from Kauai.  Yep, that’s right, you heard me, Kauai, Hawaii – not Kauai, Idaho (is there a Kauai, Idaho?).  We had a great time. Went to a beach almost every day, swam in a pool almost every day, and went running almost every day.  August got over his fear of the ocean water and instead developed what I hope to be a life-long love.  He better, anyhow, to keep up with his parents.  And perhaps best of all, I finished two books in six days. I got my reading Mojo back.  Can I get a woot-woot?

Now we’re back, and while we were gone I decided I’m going to try to find some place for August to get his social butterfly groove on.  We might be too late for preschool (Although there’s a Catholic school up the road that might pay us they’re so desperate to send him there), and if we are we’ll find something else.  Even if I have to take my husband’s advice and start my own toddler Meet-up.  August is such a social creature that I hate the thought of him not having the environment to make friends.  He must have made at least ten friends in the six days we were in Kauai, and every day he was sad when that same person wasn’t in the same spot where he met them.

So as of today, that’s our new quest – find a way for August to make some real friends this fall.  Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to tell you all the gory details along the way.
