About Me
My husband and I moved to San Francisco over five years ago, and became car free after our first year. We finally got our act together and married in November 2008 – a short two weeks later, I was pregnant with our first son. My husband stayed home with our son for the first two years of his life, and now it’s my turn. I went from full-time analyst, to full-time mom. Finally, after many years I have decided to go for my lifelong dream of being a writer. The nuances of our new roles makes life, and parenting interesting on a regular basis.
On another note, I aspire to be a luddite. I have never bought a computer, I-pod, I-phone, or I-anything else. I prefer the stereo to CDs, but lately, I admit from time to time I can get into Pandora. I prefer reading an actual book to the kindle, but I do read the paper online (I prefer to think of it as sustainable). I love travelling by myself and with my favorite playmates (my husband and son). Other than writing and taking care of my son, I enjoy knitting and running. You can view more of my writing at http://www.brokeassstuart.com. I am the Broke-Ass Mom.
I have always been anti-blog, however, as it turns out, I’ve actually been “blogging” my whole life – I’ve kept a diary (off and on, admittedly) for 20 years. Once I realized this, I figured that I could put my passion for writing to good use. My hope is that through this blog I can not only get those pesky thoughts out of my head and maybe get some sleep, but also reach an audience who might even enjoy my thoughts – crazy, I know, but possible!
